El reemplazo articular de cadera/rodilla es un procedimiento quirúrgico utilizado como tratamiento de la osteoartrosis severa, donde el manejo conservador ya no es suficiente para aliviar el dolor y  funcionalidad del paciente.

Consiste en ambos casos en el retiro de hueso enfermo y sustitución por implantes de metal y polietileno que mejoran la movilidad, dolor y funcionalidad articular.
